Studying classical piano as a child and learning all styles of contemporary guitar in his youth gave him his foundation in music. Songwriting, transcription and improvisation are all part of the creative journey to find your voice on the instrument. Having taught all ages from 4 to 70, no person is exempt from musical education. It’s up to you how far you want to take it. Theory and technique are all necessary to get to certain levels of playing, but absolute beginners will get much joy from learning very simple tunes and understanding what they are playing. Practice every day is important, but “what” you practice is far more important. It’s a beautiful journey to discover the music you love, even more so to learn how to play it on your instrument.
