During our stay in May through June, we’ve had Coen 4-5 times a week for my son. He was so wonderful and fun, my son was looking forward to his lessons. Coen was always very professional yet made the lessons easy and fun. I’ll definitely contact him again for our next trip to Sydney.

Coen is a very talented guitar and bass player. Not only that, but he is a relaxed and patient teacher. I asked Coen to help me become a better lead guitarist, and he’s targeted our lessons accordingly. I now feel so much more confident playing solos in my band than I did before – I no longer feel like I have no idea what I’m doing!

I’m writing this reference to strongly recommend Coen as an Acoustic Guitar teacher.
I began lessons about 10 weeks ago as an absolute beginner, of mature age (65 years)! I’ve been very pleased with my progress but especially so with Coen’s method of teaching, and his patience.
He’s been able to impart a mixture of theory and practical knowledge, which I’ve found to be very helpful and appropriate for the way I think and learn. He seems to be very proficient in recognising and correcting the problems I encounter, despite my frequent inability to clearly describe what I’m experiencing.
I’ll be continuing with Coen without hesitation, for as long as his patience with me endures!
Yours sincerely
Geoff Hannell

Coen has been teaching my daughter guitar since February 2019 and in that time she has vastly improved her ability in playing. What has also been most positive is her growing interest in music and the understanding in technical side of the instrument. I put all this down to Coen’s teaching. He seems to have tailored the lessons around my daughter’s learning style to keep her constantly interested and challenged.
As a parent I find Coen well mannered and very reliable. Coen is proof that it makes such a great difference getting a good teacher.

This is my second term having guitar lessons weekly with Coen. I am a beginner with only experience playing the piano many years ago now. Coen is an excellent teacher, he is patient and a very good listener and is able to adjust lesson plans according to my ability. Coen is very punctual and is very willing to adjust lesson timing and days if the need arises. His relaxed manner makes learning the guitar very enjoyable and I feel I have made a lot of progress in a very short time. I would have no hesitation in recommending Coen as an excellent guitar teacher.
